The South Central Los Angeles native began his professional career cooking at Gadsby's Restaurant in Los Angeles and the Dining Room at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Marina Del Rey, then as a Sous Chef at the world-renowned Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles. Next was a move to Las Vegas where Jeffery made history ....he became the first African American to be named a Chef de Cuisine at Caesars Palace Hotel. In 2001, the innovative chef was named Chef of the Year by the Tasting Institute of America. After much acclaim, Hollywood began booking him for star-studded celebrity events such as The Tavis Smiley Foundation Fundraiser and Black Enterprise Magazine's 2003 Hot List Launch Party. Then came multi media interviews and print headlines about Chef Jeffery's culinary career and compelling life story on how he became chef. Longing to focus on the small exclusive dining "experiences" and urban events that he has come to be known for, Jeffery Henderson is privately cooking and catering for a high-end clientele across the country. He is based in Los Angeles and is available for your next event. From the simplest soups to savory desserts, each ingredient will be at the peak of its season.
